I had only met Sandy in person once.
When the 'Duranies Who Brunch' was being planned, It was Sandy who helped coordinate the event with me. It was Sandy who reserved an extra table so that we wouldn't have to pay for a party package, and it was Sandy with whom I must have discussed the brunch about a hundred times.
On March 25, 2012 we gathered in New York City to meet fellow Duranie Kayren Campbell who was visiting from Scotland. The day before I had posted this picture of Simon LeBon on Facebook with my favorite caption
'The Definition of Gorgeous'
Sandy liked the post and the picture so much, that she had saved it into her phone. She showed it to me, and we laughed like the thirteen year-old schoolgirls we still were on the inside.
The last time I talked with her (via Twitter) was the Friday before she died. We were making plans to gather the 'Duranies Who Brunch' together again over the summer. We also discussed attending some Duran Duran concerts together over the summer as the 'Duranies Who Brunch - On Tour'

For some reason Sandy was taken from us too soon. I didn't know Sandy all that long, but as a Duranie and as a fellow Simon girl, we had a bond and I felt like I had known her forever.
She was also the definition of gorgeous, and she will be dearly missed.
